Father Dobson was born and raised in South Buffalo, New York the son of Patrick (a steelworker) and Margaret (a homemaker), and is the oldest of six children.

He attended school in Buffalo and earned his Bachelor and Master Degrees from Canisius College. Father Greg taught school for eight years before answering his call to Priesthood. He attended Christ the King Seminary in East Aurora and was ordained a Priest on July 14, 1983.

Father Greg served as pastoral vicar in Depew, Lancaster, and Orchard Park and was Chaplin at Villa Nova Academy. He was named Pastor of Saint Mary of the Angels and Vicar of Southern Cattaraugus Country in January of 1997. By recent appointment of Bishop Henry Mansell, Father Dobson serves as the President of our Catholic Schools; Southern Tier Catholic School (grades Pre K to 8th) and Archbishop Walsh High School (grades 9 - 12).

In Olean, Father Greg is on the Board of Directors of Genesis House, YMCA, and Friends of Good Music. He is currently serving the Olean Police Department as Chaplain.

Father Dobson is also featured in the television production, "Comfort My People", which can be seen on Buffalo Channel 7 at 5:30 Sunday Mornings and on Olean Channel 15 at 11:00 AM.
